Most of us have asked this question at one time or another, and perhaps more than ever during this time of global crisis. The answer is a resounding yes! Whoever and wherever we are, if we’re willing to be still and listen, we can hear the divine message above the world’s clamor. Whether we’re yearning for reassurance in a moment of fear, comfort in a time of sorrow, or answers to problems large and small, God is right there, communicating spiritual guidance to our receptive consciousness on whatever we need to know. In the May issue of The Christian Science Journal, you’ll hear from writers who have reached out to God in all kinds of situations and found needed answers. They share what they’ve learned from their study of Christian Science about how to listen for and hear God’s voice. In the lead feature, Judith Hardy Olson discusses “ the inaudible voice of Truth .” When she had important decisions to make, she found that what God is speaking to us is as commanding as a lion’s roar, and nothing can silence it or drown it out. In the transcript of a podcast called “ What truly governs us? ” Bosede Bakarey and Judy Wolff address a question even more important today than when they discussed these ideas about praying and listening for inspiration about challenging world issues just a few months ago. Bob Cochran’s “ No job too small ” points out that God is ever available to guide us, even in everyday matters. In “ A turning point with a coworker ,” William Whittenbury tells how he prayed after receiving an aggressive email. And Barbara Vining’s editorial, “ Christ’s healing power is with everyone right now ,” explains how God can shift our thinking from anguish to love and trust. The illustration of Christ’s power in healing has always been a feature of this magazine and its sister magazine, the Christian Science Sentinel.
